The best croissant of my life

Oh yes, the best croissant that I ever ate, me, big eater, comes from here, in Santa Barbara.  I would have not believed it either, if someone had told me this three months ago.  But hey, it's true ...

My new "magic cream"

A few days ago, I found an extraordinary cream in a shop (www.shopkitson.com) in Santa Barbara: Goé Oil.  As the sample said "try me", I used it on my hands and went back home to see whether the initial wonderful feel would last.

How am I today?

What a strange title for my blog post, but you are numerous to ask me regularly how everything is going and how I am adapting. Be assured, all is well.  That does not mean that everything is perfect every day.  A relocation is a big step in life and the emotions during this experience are more like a roller coaster than a quiet river.

Back to normal

My friends, it's "rentrée" time. This French word means "back to school", but also so much more. The "end of the summer", also linked to "back to work" (after much longer summer vacations than our American friends).  For us the "normal" life will start here in Santa Barbara.

I am sorry for not having written much over the summer. We arrived in California seven weeks ago, and getting everyone settled, unpack the container and being constantly surprised and astonished kept me so busy that writing was far off.

New mobile phones

One of the big joys of being parent these days is to ensure that the next generation is constantly online.  Those of you who are bringing up teenagers know what I am talking about. I therefore tried to be as proactif as possible and already looked four weeks before we left France into the acquisition of new SIM cards for my kids.

(translation: my son does not smoke, nor drinks,
nor takes drugs .. he is on the phone)

Big mistake, but please bear with me, it was all meant to be the right strategy ...

And funnily enough, reality catches up (as ever so often). Xavier Niel (Free) is trying to purchase T-Mobile, the forth operator of mobile phones in the US.
